Kolkata: The National Testing Agency has set April 5, 2025, as the date for the AISSEE 2025, the entrance exam for Class VI and IX admissions to Sainik Schools across India. This exam, crucial for the 2025-26 academic session, will be conducted in pen-and-paper format using OMR sheets. Both Class VI and Class IX exams will be held on the same day, allowing candidates to take their respective test. Eligibility for AISSEE 2025 requires Class 6 applicants to be within the 10-12 age range as of March 31, 2025, with girls also equally eligible for admission to all Sainik Schools. Class 9 applicants must be aged 13-15 by the same date and have completed Class 8; girls' admission is contingent upon seat availability.

What is AISSEE 2025 Medium of Instruction?

  • Class 6 Flexibility: AISSEE 2025 Class 6 exam offers a wide range of language options, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. This diverse selection aims to ensure accessibility for students from various linguistic backgrounds across India.
  • Class 9 English Only: In contrast, the AISSEE 2025 Class 9 exam will be conducted exclusively in English. This reflects the higher level of education and the increasing use of English in educational settings at that level.

What is Eligibility and Passing Criteria for AISSEE 2025?

  • General Passing Requirements: To successfully pass the AISSEE 2025, general category candidates must achieve a minimum of 25% in each individual subject. Additionally, all candidates must secure an overall aggregate score of 40%.
  • SC/ST Category Exemption: Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are granted an exemption from the individual subject minimum marks requirement. For these candidates, only the 40% overall aggregate score is required for passing.
